What is a deep tissue massage?
Deep Tissue focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue to release the chronic patterns of tension in specific areas through slow strokes and deeper pressure on the contracted areas. Deep tissue often utilizes elbows, forearms, and sometimes knees in order to sustain deep and static pressure in one area of focus. Afterwards, the body often feels as if it had a strenuous, yet impactful workout. Because many toxins are released, it's important to drink plenty of water after a deep session to help eliminate toxins from the body.
