Ortho-Bionomy with Jeanne Douglas
Class Description: AN ORTHO-BIONOMY® ISOMETRIC/ISOTONIC ADVENTURE: EXPLORING THE PUSH/PULL OF LIFE with Jeanne Douglas
This is one of the most exciting Ortho Bionomy classes! The powerful techniques taught in this class are simple, easy to use and extraordinarily effective at helping the body instantaneously reconfigure and release its own stuck muscle patterns! Even chronic muscle patterns that have dominated the body’s structure for years! These techniques encourage mobility and simulate self-corrective reflexes that help the body re-sync its sensory-neuro motor loop. These techniques require the active participation of the client so they can learn how the conscious use of an obstacle can help promote change from rigid physical patterns to greater mobility and allow the client to actively participate in their own healing: “What cannot be healed from within the body, cannot be healed from without.” You will learn self-care techniques. You will continue applying the concepts and principles of Ortho-Bionomy as you gain a deeper understanding of how they relate to the body. Included in this class is a manual with descriptions and pictures of all the techniques. Also, information on reciprocal inhibition, joint proprioception, the spindle reflex arc and what they have to do with healing.
YOUR TAKEAWAY: After this class you will be capable of completing satisfying and rewarding Ortho-Bionomy sessions.
ORTHO-BIONOMY is a therapeutic technique that helps the body rediscover its natural balance, through gentle movement and positions and by engaging the energic patterns that bring body, mind, and spirit into wellness with compassionate contact and connection. Gentle and non-invasive, it blends well with other modalities.
Classes are designed for anyone interested in natural health and self-care.
PREREQUISITE: Any Ortho-Bionomy class or permission from Jeanne. If no previous Ortho-Bionomy experience students will need to attend a 3-hour Introduction to Ortho-Bionomy class on Friday evening.
Jeanne began studying Ortho-Bionomy in 1988 and maintain a private practice in Shakopee, Minnesota. I found Ortho-Bionomy after years of searching for relief from body pain. Nothing else I tried addressed my pain like Ortho-Bionomy did. I have been an active member of the Society of Ortho-Bionomy since 1988. I have served on the Board of Directors for two terms and as president in each of those terms. I teach with a respectful and playful approach. I love teaching this work, and empowering and encouraging self-discovery to enhance the quality of your life.
